The viewer is free. Commercial use needs a commercial licence. That means any use PolyForm Noncommercial does not permit, internal tools and testing included. Personal use, and charitable, educational, public-research, public-health and government organisations, are free.

For people

  • The free viewer and the free licence

The viewer is free. The code and research models are free under PolyForm Noncommercial 1.0.0 for personal use, and for charitable, educational, public-research, public-health and government organisations. No commercial licence needed.

  • Supporter licence

A personal licence that adds nothing to the free one except perks such as a Discord role. Monthly options start from $5 a month. See how to support the research.

  • Coming

    Cloud anatomy labels (CT)

Coming, paid per scan (not free). No price yet. Unlike the free viewer, it uploads the scan to a rented graphics card to be read. Anatomy names only.

LunarWerx LLC is a for-profit company. Payments are not charitable donations and are not tax-deductible.

Monthly and yearly licences renew each month or year until cancelled, at link.com or by email. A licence ends at the end of the paid period.

Startup, Builder and Growth may use the models inside your own products and hosted services, as long as the weights stay on systems you control. Delivering the weights to others (installed software, devices, scanners, PACS, platforms run by someone else) is Enterprise / OEM.

Overage is billed from your quarterly report. It is capped: it never costs more in a quarter than moving up to the next tier would have. Every paid tier gets your own marked copy of the weights with its checksum, the documentation pack, new versions during the term and email support.

What a study is

A study is one patient's imaging exam, counted once per calendar month however many covered models or re-runs touch it. Not counted: public or benchmark datasets, and quality checks on your own fixed test sets. Outputs of models derived from a covered model count when used in a product or service.

What is covered

Code and weights of the chest X-ray research model, the wrist fracture research model, the CT organ outliner, the lung nodule research model (CT) and the mammogram research model. The dataset schedule lists every training dataset with its licence and the credit it asks for. One chest X-ray pre-training set (BDCXR-3257) was downloaded under CC BY 4.0, and the download also carries a hospital Data Use Agreement that says non-commercial academic research only. LunarWerx follows the download record's licence.

What is not covered

The lumbar spine X-ray corner reader (noncommercial only), the disc grading model (MRI), anything that runs on TotalSpineSeg's weights, MedGemma, and third-party parts under their own licences.

Reporting and audit

You send a count-only report each quarter, with no patient data, and keep records for 2 years. There is at most one audit a year, on 30 days' notice, by an independent accountant under a confidentiality agreement. You pay for it only if you under-reported by more than 5%.

How licensing stays fair

A licence cannot stop copying, so we do not pretend it can. Weights download through a gated page that records who took them. Every public copy carries a mark, and each licensee's copy carries its own. It is evidence, not a lock. The contract adds quarterly reports and an audit right. Companies list their software parts in their own regulatory files, and an unlicensed research model is a defect there. Paying costs less than a refused filing or a failed deal.

Buying a commercial licence means your company accepts the rAidiology Commercial Licence: COMMERCIAL-LICENSE.md.

Who sells it

LunarWerx LLC, a Missouri for-profit company, is the licensor. Connections Global LLC sells the licences for LunarWerx LLC, with checkout by Link (Stripe's), the merchant of record. The card statement reads LINK.COM. Checkout asks for your company's legal name, a billing address and, if you like, a tax ID.
